NurseReady is a nursing education and study application for nursing students and other healthcare learners. This Privacy Policy explains what information NurseReady may collect or process, why it is used, and the choices available to you.
1. Information NurseReady May Collect
Information you provide
- Account information: If you use the school/cohort features, NurseReady may collect your email address, display name, Firebase user identifier, and authentication information needed to provide the account.
- School and cohort information: If you join an organization or cohort, the app may process your cohort membership, class/join code information, assignments, and user-specific progress associated with that program.
- Study information: The app may store study progress, quiz attempts, dosage-calculation attempts, skills completion, streak information, and other learning activity needed to provide the app's features.
- AI input: Information you voluntarily type, paste, dictate, or otherwise submit to AI-powered features may be processed to generate educational responses. This may include study questions, clinical learning scenarios, SBAR practice, study-plan information, and similar educational content.
- Purchase information: Purchases and subscriptions are processed through Google Play. NurseReady receives purchase/entitlement information needed to provide paid features; payment card details are handled by Google Play rather than stored by NurseReady.
Information collected automatically
- App and device information: Firebase services may process technical information such as app version, device or installation identifiers, operating-system information, network information, and diagnostic information as part of providing and securing the service.
- Usage information: Firebase Analytics may collect app usage and event information to help understand how NurseReady is used and improve the app.
- Security information: Firebase App Check and Google Play Integrity may process device/app attestation information to help protect the app and AI services from abuse.
2. How We Use Information
- Provide and maintain NurseReady's educational features.
- Create and authenticate accounts when school/cohort features are used.
- Save applicable learning progress and provide school/cohort functionality.
- Generate responses from AI-powered educational features.
- Process and restore paid features and subscriptions.
- Protect the app, prevent fraud or abuse, and enforce security controls.
- Diagnose technical problems, monitor reliability, and improve the app.
- Comply with applicable legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
3. AI-Powered Features
NurseReady uses Firebase AI Logic with a configured Google Gemini service for certain premium educational features. Text or other content you submit to those features is transmitted for processing so an AI response can be generated.
Do not submit patient names, dates of birth, medical record numbers, photographs containing identifying information, protected health information, passwords, or other confidential information. NurseReady is designed for educational practice and should not be used to process real patient records.
AI-generated content may be incomplete, inaccurate, or outdated. You are responsible for independently verifying educational information against authoritative sources and applicable clinical policies.
4. Third-Party Services
NurseReady relies on third-party services to provide portions of the app, including:
- Google Firebase: authentication, Firestore database services, analytics, app security, and AI services.
- Google Gemini through Firebase AI Logic: generation of AI-powered educational responses.
- Google Play Billing: subscription and purchase processing.
- Google Play Integrity: app/device integrity checks for production security.
These providers may process information according to their own terms and privacy policies. NurseReady does not control the privacy practices of third-party providers.
5. Local Data
Some NurseReady educational content and study information is stored locally on your device using the app's local database. Uninstalling the app may remove locally stored information, depending on your device's backup and restore settings.
6. Sharing and Disclosure
NurseReady does not sell your personal information. Information may be disclosed to service providers that process information on our behalf, to school or cohort administrators when you intentionally participate in an organization program, when required to provide a requested feature, when necessary to protect the app or users, or when required by law.
School/cohort administrators may have access to information needed to administer their program, such as your name, membership status, assignments, and applicable progress. This applies only when you participate in an organization/cohort feature.
7. Data Retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the applicable service, maintain security, meet legitimate business needs, resolve disputes, and comply with legal obligations. Retention periods may differ depending on the type of information and the service involved.
8. Account Deletion
If you created a NurseReady account, you can request deletion from inside the app through More → Account & Privacy → Delete Account. You may also use the public account-deletion page:
When an account deletion request is completed, NurseReady deletes the Firebase Authentication account and user-specific account records that NurseReady controls. Organization records that must remain for other members may be retained as necessary, with the deleted account removed from the applicable membership records.
Deleting a NurseReady account does not automatically cancel a Google Play subscription. Subscriptions must be canceled through Google Play.
9. Children's Privacy
NurseReady is intended for nursing students and healthcare learners and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to NurseReady, contact us so that we can review and take appropriate action.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. No internet transmission or electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
11. Your Choices
- You can choose whether to use the optional school/cohort account features.
- You can request deletion of an account and associated personal data as described above.
- You can manage Google Play subscriptions through your Google Play account.
- You can stop using AI features and should not submit information you do not want processed by an AI service.
- You can contact us with questions about your personal information.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when NurseReady's features, data practices, or legal requirements change. The updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised effective date.
